Creative Writing Workshop with writer James Lawless
Bunclody Library, County Wexford, Thursday 10 September 2015, 7-8.30 pm
For people who are experimenting in writing in different genres, this writing workshop will touch on the novel, the short story, the poem and the play as ways of discovering your potential. Methods for summoning the poetic muse will be explored and in prose emphasis will be placed on characterisation, dialogue, plot development, language and techniques for self-editing and rewriting. Participants are invited to bring some of their own work if they wish to have it critiqued in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Advice will also be given on publishing opportunities, both traditional and electronic, in a modern age.
James Lawless is an awarding-winning and published poet, novelist, short story writer and playwright.
