James Lawless is a real treasure! His books are to be kept secure in your selves and read again and again. Every time, they will give you a distinct experience.

His books bring a tender smile and soothing feeling to the heart. His poetic narration can not be matched.

The protagonist, Derek lost his father at the age of two. He accidentally find out the diaries and letters exchanged between his parents in their younger days. Figuring out that whom he thought to be his father, Patrick Foley is not his real father. His whole life seems to him as a lie. It was.

Since this revelation,Derek Foley is absorbed in one task : Finding out who his real father is. As the title suggests, this project of him was like Peeling Oranges. With a mother who is losing her memories, getting old and unable to do anything, he is face the bitter truth that unfolds itself step by step. His search takes him back to the fight era between Spain and Ireland.

You can see yourself engrossed in James Lawless’ narrating style since the very first pages. The switching between past and present is smoothly presented. Spell-bounding twists and turns, provide this story its backbone.

It is a complete page turner novel. A fascinating story narrated in the most elegant manner. Loved this one immensely.
